Love Letters to the Public Transport System

Overview

Molly Taylor’s solo storytelling show sets out to find and thank the people who move us around — the drivers and conductors and station staff who carry us to work, to friends, to lovers, to the moments that turn out to matter. The question the show runs on is a practical one: who exactly do you thank, and how would you find them? What we love about it:

Public transport is usually argued about as policy — emissions per passenger mile, funding settlements, modal shift. This show makes the case for it as love instead, which is a far harder thing to do and a far harder thing to forget. It never once mentions the climate. It is still one of the most persuasive pieces of environmental theatre you can see this August, because it makes the shared, unglamorous, publicly-funded thing feel like something worth defending on its own terms.
